When Amplifon, a big company from the hearing care solutions and services field, entered the Chinese market focusing on the hearing care retail system, a fast-spreading sector in the Far East.
It asked for Pleiadi International | Yixing design support in developing and localizing its brand in China.
Brand Amplifon arrives in China
The project was developed through a three-stage analysis:
- identity: a detailed study of the brand value and strategic positioning in the dedicated project;
- meaning: a semantic survey of the brand for the correct Chinese interpretation;
- phonetics: refining the previous investigation into a solution reflecting the international brand in the sounding as well.
We studied the possible typographic connections between ideogram parts resembling the Amplifon western characters, to create a continuity between the two fonts; after the choice was approved by the company’s headquarter, the development of the institutional identity began, through the various advertising materials specifically designed for the Chinese market.
Answering the company’s need for declining the Chinese brand identity in the institutional materials, we successfully proposed the logo identity, the typography, the palette, the toolbox, the literature system and the template for the brand manual, and the ADV & visual style, including creativity, photography guideline and rules.
After successfully opening its stores in China through its local branch, Amplifon aims to establish in the Chinese market with more strength, by updating its billboards.
For this project, in which Yixing design Pleiadi International is proud to partner, we studied and designed the best solutions to emphasise the descriptor text on the billboards, in a delicate harmony and balance between ideograms and blank spaces.
